Google Workspace pricing in euros: what it costs per user
Google Workspace Business costs €6.80 (Starter), €13.60 (Standard) or €21.10 (Plus) per user per month on an annual plan, excluding VAT. On the Flexible plan, which you can cancel or shrink at any time, the same editions cost €8.10, €16.20 and €25.30. Enterprise editions have no public price. These are Google's standard list prices as of 10 October 2026.
Google Workspace prices per user
| Edition | Annual plan per user per month | Flexible plan per user per month | Saving on annual |
|---|---|---|---|
| Business Starter | €6.80 | €8.10 | 16% |
| Business Standard | €13.60 | €16.20 | 16% |
| Business Plus | €21.10 | €25.30 | 16% |
| Enterprise editions | no public price (Google: "contact sales") | ||
All prices are per user per month, in euros, excluding VAT. They are Google's published standard prices for Ireland, the page this table is maintained from; Google's German page showed the same figures on 13 October 2026. Google often shows a time-limited introductory discount for the first three months next to them: this page leaves those out, because they end.

Annual or Flexible plan: which is cheaper?
The annual plan is about 16% cheaper per user. In return you commit to the number of licenses for a year: you can add licenses during the year, but you can't remove them until the renewal date. A license you stop needing in month three is still on the bill in month eleven.
The Flexible plan costs more per user, and you can add or remove licenses at any time. You pay each month for the licenses you held that month.
So the annual plan is cheaper only if your headcount stays put. A team that hires and loses people through the year, or that hasn't checked which licenses are in use, can end up paying more on the "cheaper" plan, for seats nobody needs.
What each edition includes
| Business Starter | Business Standard | Business Plus | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Storage (pooled across the organisation) | 30 GB per user | 2 TB per user | 5 TB per user |
| Video meetings | 100 participants | 150 participants, recording | 500 participants, attendance tracking |
| Gemini AI | in Gmail, and the Gemini app | in Gmail, Docs, Meet and more | as Standard |
| Archiving and eDiscovery | Vault | ||
| Maximum users | 300 | 300 | 300 |
Above 300 users, Google sells only Enterprise editions, priced through its sales team. Storage is pooled: everyone draws from one shared allowance, so a few heavy users don't need a bigger edition as long as the organisation's total fits.
What actually drives your Workspace bill
Google bills for licenses, not for people who use Workspace. Four kinds of license cost money and do nothing:
- Suspended accounts. Google charges a suspended user the same as an active one. Suspending someone who left stops them signing in, not the bill.
- People who left, or never really started. An account that hasn't sent an email or opened a file in months still holds a full license.
- Shared mailboxes on a paid seat. info@ and office@ are often full user accounts. A Google Group or an alias receives the same mail for free.
- Licenses on no one. On an annual plan you can pay for more licenses than you have assigned, and they stay on the invoice until renewal.
How to lower your Google Workspace cost
- Find the licenses nobody uses, by activity rather than last sign-in. How to find unused Google Workspace licenses explains why the difference matters.
- Archive leavers instead of suspending them. An archived account keeps its data on a cheaper Archived User license and frees the full one.
- Turn shared mailboxes into Groups or aliases.
- Check the edition. If the whole organisation's storage would fit a smaller edition, and you don't need its meeting features, the step down saves on every user.
- Time it. On Flexible, every removal counts from the next bill. On an annual plan, decide before the renewal date and renew with fewer licenses.

Questions
Do Google Workspace prices include VAT? No. The prices are per user per month, excluding VAT. A business in the EU with a VAT number usually doesn't pay VAT to Google through the reverse charge; without one, VAT is added at your country's rate.
Is there a free version of Google Workspace for business? No. There is a 14-day free trial, and Google sometimes discounts the first months, but every Business edition is paid per user after that.
Does Google charge for suspended users? Yes, the same as for active users. To stop paying for a former employee's full license and keep their data, archive the account instead.
Can I reduce licenses on an annual plan? Not during the term. You can add licenses at any time, but the number you committed to stays on the bill until the renewal date. Plan reductions for renewal, or switch the subscription to Flexible when it renews.
Why does my invoice show a different price? Prices bought through a reseller, older contracts and promotions all differ from the list price. This page shows Google's standard list price, which is what most new customers pay after any introductory offer ends.
